Cabinet Frayre & Associates makes the headlines in Monaco Economy magazine
CABINET FRAYRE & ASSOCIÉS
International Heirs and Beneficiaries Search
Cabinet Frayre & Associés, created by Christophe Frayre in Monaco in 2014, is specialised in the search for heirs at international level.
One of the first and only firms in the Principality dedicated to searching for heirs or missing beneficiaries anywhere in the world, Cabinet Frayre & Associés is also specialised in establishing international genealogical trees for inheritance purposes.
This profession is often little‑known, and there is no specific degree to train for it, yet it has become an essential player in:
-
Settling estates and successions
-
Finding beneficiaries of life‑insurance policies
-
Verifying that all beneficiaries of a deceased person have been properly identified and listed
All this takes place in an international context in which:
-
Families can lose touch with one another
-
Separations, remarriages and blended families are becoming more frequent
Supported by a team of experienced staff with a wide range of skills, as well as researchers and multilingual legal specialists, the firm handles more than 200 cases a year, most of them in France and Italy.
Investigations, sometimes strewn with obstacles, have enabled the firm to find heirs in more than 60 countries.
Our know‑how, our expertise and our international base make it possible for us to address the various difficulties encountered by banks and financial institutions when they are confronted with dormant or even abandoned accounts, where the beneficiaries – mostly foreign – have disappeared without leaving behind any descendants or a will, or have lost their memory.
Despite the generally very good management by banks and their perfect knowledge of the identity of the economic beneficiary, situations can still contain surprises. This is why it is important to be assisted by Cabinet Frayre & Associés, which is able to certify and attest to the devolution of the estate further to the death of the economic beneficiary.
The firm has put in place a “revelation contract”, which makes it possible to guarantee payment of the assets due to the heir or beneficiary in the event of success, in return for a commission ranging from 15% to 20%. Above all, this contract guarantees that the firm will bear all costs incurred if the case is unsuccessful.
This also allows the heir to be reassured and not have any amount to pay. Once the contract has been signed, Cabinet Frayre & Associés can represent all the heirs or beneficiaries and keep them informed of each step of the liquidation of the estate, without them having to travel from the other side of the world.
Our proximity enables the firm to guarantee regular follow‑up and to handle each case with the strictest confidentiality.
For the time being, however, no law in the Principality obliges banks to search for the beneficiaries of dormant accounts.
